The 26th Annual Midwest Book Awards has recognized "A Father's Kiss" by Jack Uldrich as a finalist in the category of Inspiration.

The competition, sponsored by the Midwest Independent Publishing Association, is judged by experts from all aspects of the book world, including publishers, writers, editors, librarians, teachers and book designers. They select award winners and finalists based on overall excellence.

It is an honor to be named as a finalist for this award. It's especially meaningful since it is a dedication to my own daughter, who will be heading off to college soon.

Winners will be announced at the Midwest Book Awards Gala to be held on May 13, 2016, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Olson Campus Center at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.

"A father kisses his newborn daughter and offers a simple prayer. It is a heartfelt ritual that repeats itself at meaningful moments throughout the remainder of their lives." Jack Uldrich's "A Father's Kiss" is both a touching and inspirational book written with his own daughter in mind.

Uldrich is the author of eleven other books, and last year, he was awarded the Bellwether Prize for his book "Foresight 20/20." He is also a highly regarded public speaker and consultant. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife and children.

"It is an honor to be named as a finalist for this award. It's especially meaningful since it is a dedication to my own daughter, who will be heading off to college soon."

The book is illustrated by Dani Melin, a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art & Design.

"It is thrilling to see so many talented authors and publishers of high quality books in the Midwest," said Midwest Book Awards Chair Sherry Roberts. "I look forward to the Gala, where we will be recognizing the achievements of all of the finalists and winners as well as celebrating the strength and vitality of independent publishing in the Midwest."
