Jack Uldrich Explores The Future of Cutting Edge Kitchens

On Tuesday, May 17 trend expert Jack Uldrich will deliver a keynote speech to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association. His presentation will focus on the concept of unlearning and how it pertains to the future of manufacturing.

In March 2016, the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) announced 48 months of consecutive growth for the cabinet industry.

"With 48 months of straight growth, cabinetry is at the forefront of US manufacturing," says KCMA President Mark A. Trexler, and CEO of Master WoodCraft Cabinetry. Strong growth within the kitchen cabinet manufacturing industry has contributed to the upward tick experienced in the manufacturing sector overall.

Unlearning is a critical skill that will aid any organization in navigating a future where the pace of scientific and technological knowledge is doubling every seven years.

From May 16-18 the KCMA will hold its Spring Annual Convention in Colorado Springs, CO. On May 17, futurist Jack Uldrich will deliver his keynote, "The Future Requires Unlearning: The Big AHA," to the KCMA audience.

Celebrated for his writing and speaking on the concept of unlearning, Uldrich is an advocate of unlearning old ways of doing business. He deems it, "a critical skill to successfully navigate a future where the pace of scientific and technological knowledge is doubling every seven years."

According to Uldrich, "Today, 'constant change is the only constant.' New advances in technology bring forth exciting discoveries every day. But often lost in this new reality is the fact that organizations must unlearn old, obsolete knowledge and old ways of doing business before they can seize tomorrow's opportunities."

In his fascinating, informative and interactive presentation, Jack — hailed by BusinessWeek as "America's Chief Unlearning Officer"— will explain to the KCMA why unlearning is a critical skill for manufacturers to embrace. Especially in light of the "upward tick" of manufacturing growth in recent years.

Uldrich says, "When it comes to manufacturing, expect to hear more about 3D printing, robotics and the "Internet of Things." The IoT in its simplest form, the idea is that in the coming decade an estimated 50 billion physical objects will be connected to the Internet through low-cost, wireless sensors."

Uldrich travels the world speaking on future trends, emerging technologies, innovation change management and leadership. His manufacturing clients include the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA,) Stiles, Siemens, the IBD, and the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI.) Other leading clients include Verizon Wireless, ABB/Thomas and Betts, Emerson, Wells Fargo and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
